Chilterns League 2017
We took part in the first of three galas which make up the Chilterns League, on Saturday 25th February. We managed to come 5th out of a possible 8 all with only 14 swimmers able to take part. We are taking a much bigger team to the second gala on Saturday 18th March so hopefully we can move up that scoreboard!
After gala 2 we finished 4th, and with more points being scored we also managed to move up the leader board to 4th position. Hopefully after some hard work at training we can aim for bronze or silver!
On Saturday 22nd April we completed gala 3 and ended up 2nd place on the night! This moved us up to 2nd place in Division 2 of the League and also means we have been promoted to Division 1 next year!! Training hard and supporting each other as a team really pays off. Division 1 will be a bit more of a challenge for us but I'm sure we'll do all the training we can to keep us there.
Henley take on the Swimathon!
We had a very successful afternoon on Saturday in Henley with all three of our Swimathon teams completing the 5k distance we had set ourselves. Over the three pages we had set up and from other team members raising their own money we have managed to raise just over £900! This is a fantastic result!
There is still one last chance to donate, we could potentially reach the £1000 mark..! Below are the three links, you can donate to any page.
Either way we all had a lot of fun swimming together and, in the end, raised a lot of money and awareness for a wonderful cause.
Our Junior squad looking very pleased with themselves after a Novice gala in Aylesbury on Saturday 1st April and there was no fooling anyone in the pool as we made a splash straight into first place at the start of the gala! However, after too many swims being swum faster than the time bands we came 4th out of 4 teams. We did however, leave with the fewest disqualifications and the biggest smiles! An enjoyable evening all round!
Annual Club Championships
A successful Club Champs was held on Saturday 25th March, well done to all the swimmers that took part and to all the parents that came along to support and cheer!
